Hydrate- It’s important to drink water well ahead of the class. Try to avoid downing a whole bottle of water just before the class. Far better to drink a little and often throughout the day of the class – aim for a couple of litres.
Arrive at least 20 minutes before- The class on your first visit. This will give us a chance to show you around the studio, make sure everything has been completed and for you to meet the teacher so that any questions you have can be answered. If you arrive later it may not be possible for you to join that class.
Wear appropriate clothing- Nothing too heavy, you will sweat! Women tend to wear leggings or capri shorts and a sports top. Men wear shorts and sometimes a t-shirt (based on your preference).
During the class – Follow the teacher. Try to stay in the class but take breaks if you need them. This may seem easy but it’s important on your first visit to give yourself a chance to adjust to the heat.
Maintain your focus by focusing on your breath. This is a critically important part of yoga and one that many yogis focus on for years.
At the end of the class take the time to enjoy the savasna at the end of the class. You deserve it!
After the class- Do re-hydrate (including something with electrolytes). You’re welcome to ask the teacher any questions you may have or talk to our front of house staff. Get yourself booked in for another class, in particular if you’re taking advantage of our introductory offer as you’ll be amazed at the progress you make in just a few classes.
