Lisette has spent the last 3 years training to become a trauma release facilitator and is now going to be delivering TRE sessions to individuals and groups at Hot Yoga Essex.
What is TRE®

Lisette will guide you through a series of exercises to induce natural shaking in the body, this bypasses the psychology and goes straight to the physiology which releases the held tension in the body and mind. TRE® is intended to be helpful for everybody.
Do I have Trauma & what is it?
In the TRE® model trauma is defined as anything that overwhelms, this may be shock or developmental trauma, but may also be years of a stressful job or anxiety from following a constant news cycle.
There is a growing understanding of trauma and its consequences no one working with trauma nowadays is ignoring the body. Trauma means we are stuck in defence strategies; run, fight or shutdown.
If people are stuck in fight/flight the majority of the time all of their long-term health projects are shut down; immune system, hormones, digestion etc which presents many health issues, people in shutdown often struggle with depression, low energy, extreme fatigue and pain management issues.
How does trauma affect the body and our nervous system?
Tension held in the body we know alters the neurological, biochemical and anatomical structure and reactions within the body, addressing the bodies physiology is essential in healing trauma because in situations when trauma is occurring the nervous system is responding; all the systems of the body will be altered, from the muscles to the chemical transmitters, which then can alter gene expression, microbiome and lead to chronic states of tension in the body.
Every emotion and experience you have ever had left an implicit memory on the body, just as if you sit with imbalance posture for 5 years there will be physical manifestations of this, an imbalance between parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems is at the root of much dysfunction, TRE restores the balance between these systems.
The aim of TRE® is to rid the body of held tension and bring the body back into natural balance where all the systems are working in harmony.
